The Sojourner's Traversal

Presence

Heaven and earth would one day flee from Him and there would be no place found for them
All his strength left him in a moment and he felt he was about to lose consciousness. He was so overcome there was no energy left to open his eyes or speak. As is written in the song of Moses, the servant of God, the excellence of the Lord is great and He is fearful, glorious in His power and glorious in His holiness.

Each wave of revelation and life that radiated here was so much beyond what any mortal could take and he knew there was no way he could bear this much longer.

Despite this, the fire he had been baptized with at the beginning of his season of prayer did not cease burning. In a very real way this gave the energy to consciously stand when all else within him could not.

He realized how mistaken he had been on earth, to assume that the main purpose of the anointing was to do the works of the ministry - to heal the sick, cast out devils, deliver the captives. Inasmuch as these are all legitimate works, they are but results or outcomes of the outpouring of the anointing.

The main purpose of the anointing itself however, was to enable those who are mortal to walk in communion with One who is infinite in His omnipotence, glorious and powerful beyond comprehension. Foremostly, it is into the fellowship of His presence that we have been called.

Truth

In the spirit, our intelligence is multiplied such that we are at once aware of so much we did not and could not understand before. However, here truth is not something we simply grasp with the mind. Truth is such tangible reality, it permeates our being such that nothing apart from it seems to matter. Hence, it became quickly apparent to him just how vain and futile it was for any mortal being to imagine they could simply 'choose' what to believe on earth as though truth was subject to personal whims.

Everything the scriptures said concerning His nature was true. All that was within and around the sojourner testified of this with absolute finality. Without any conscious effort on his part, every iota in him recognized and responded to Him with indescribable deference. Here, he experienced the Lord as the Spirit in whose presence there is eternal freedom (2 Corinthians 3:17). Here, he found Him fully the Beginning and the End, the Maker and the Judge. Here, the majesty and terror of His presence was so overwhelming there was no question that heaven and earth would one day flee from before Him and there would be no place found for them.

For many years prior to this, the man thought he knew Him. It was now clear that what he had thought of as 'knowledge' of God was shockingly empty compared to who He truly was. Though he had petitioned earnestly to meet His Maker, now he knew in his spirit he was far from ready. Despite this, he became conscious of the Holy Spirit more powerfully than he had ever experienced on earth or even imagined was possible.

In this place, the sojourner began to comprehend the true meaning of life. It is true that everything here was saturated with life. However, it was not life like he had ever known it before. From this place, earthly reality seemed nothing but a vague, obscure figment so many realms away that it had no significance at all. It felt like a very, very faint memory that was hardly even real. It was then that it began to dawn on him how infinitesimal and marred the realm he had come from actually was. The consequences of the fall were far, far greater than he had ever conceived at any point in his life. He also realized that the full impact of what happened in Eden was beyond what was possible to imagine on earth.

Predestination

A new awareness began to come over him. Despite the fact that he was already so overwhelmed and overcome by the infinite depths of the presence of the Lord, this new awareness brought yet another revelation.

This place was familiar. His spirit, now unbounded by time and matter, recognized this as a place he had been before. Again, he knew such knowledge was outside the scope of his earthly intelligence. Yet he recognized this as being just as true as everything else was here. He could not help but wonder how an ethereal place that had so impacted him as this could be even in the slightest familiar. Still, he could not shake off the growing connection to this very spot where he was.

The reality of predestination was becoming clear. As it came into focus, it became personal like he had never imagined. Every human is born as a physical being to earthly parents. However, just as the death of a human on earth is never the end of their life, physical birth never marks the beginning of human existence.

It has been said of our lives on earth that we are not physical beings having a spiritual experience, but spiritual beings having a physical experience. This profoundly true because each of us is essentially a spirit. It is due to this very fact that our lives never begin with physical birth. Birth on earth is the start of our physical lives. However, though our physical bodies may be composed of genetic material derived from our parents, our spirit (which is our true nature), came directly from our Maker.

Human Journey

God is Spirit. The human journey only begins in His presence. He forms a human spirit and commissions it to earth to inhabit a physical body. He does this at a point in earthly history and in an earthly environment predetermined only by Him. He is the one who creates and determines the appointed time of each man and the boundaries of their habitation (Acts 17:26)This is why though every human body eventually sinks into the physical ground where it came from, the spirit returns straight to the eternal Source. Just like Jeremiah, each of us existed before we were conceived in our mother's womb. This was the moment when our spirit was first brought into existence and given a specific mandate before being released into the physical realm.

He now knew what he had just experienced was the reverse of this. It was the journey back to the place he had been originally formed at the beginning of his own human journey. This was the destiny of every man for all must one day stand before the Maker. He also knew his earthly life was going to be reviewed in light of the original purpose that preceded his creation as a spirit being.

He also knew that though he had been born again on earth, he was nowhere near ready for this experience. He had not fully grasped the breadth and depth of what he was praying for when he petitioned to meet with Him here. Now that he was fully here, there was no way he could retreat or turn and go back the way he had come. Every single detail right to the deepest parts of his personal life were as exposed and open as the atmosphere around him and there was absolutely nowhere to hide.
.
The moment had come. He was about to speak.
